Policies & Procedures
- Each child will need to bring a lunch daily.
- You must be able to escort your child to and from his classroom at drop-off and pick-up times.
- We must be able to contact the legal guardian daily during preschool hours.
- When your child is ill, you must be able to pick him up immediately.
- A medical information form must be completed for medication needs.
- Please dress your child appropriately for outdoor play (weather permitting) and messy art activities.
- All children must be completely potty-trained and able to maintain their own bathroom needs.
We serve children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old in our preschool program. We combine teacher-facilitated and child-initiated learning experiences, while ensuring a context of developmentally appropriate curriculum. We use the Zoo Phonics curriculum and base our teachings on God’s Word.
Our Curriculum
Using the Bible as our foundation we will follow Indiana’s Early Learning Standards. These standards include the following:
- English/Language Arts: Reading repetitive texts often and allowing students to interact and learn with the repetitive text and rhyming.
- Mathematics: Students learn to describe, compare, and interact with objects while having math talks, building vocabulary, thinking and beginning math skills.
- Science: Using hands on play and experiments students will try different ways of using tools, making things work and problem solving. Science activities will be used to build vocabulary and science talk.
- Social Studies: The Bible will be our foundation in teaching social studies and problem solving in their own community and personal life experiences.
- Student Wellbeing: Creating opportunities for students to communicate, support, play with and learn along side one another.
- Approaches to Play and Learning: Children will be given time to play games and try new challenges so that they can develop flexible thinking, problem solving skills, and sustain attention for longer periods of time.
- Physical Health and Growth: Children will participate in physical activities during recess, Minds in Motion and our creative arts dance movement class times.
- Creative Arts: During art, crafts, and music play as well as our creative arts dance and movement class students will experience ways to express themselves through the arts.
